Speak In Action
Speech and Language Therapy
I'm Excited You're Here!
Hi, I'm Val, the founder of Speck In Action Speech and Language Therapy. SPEAK IN ACTION was born from the idea that things did not always have to be so formal to see progress in clients with speech, language, or general communication needs. In fact, it can be fun and exciting! Over the years, while working in the field of speech and language therapy, I noticed that some individuals believed progress could only be achieved in very formal settings. However, from working with countless clients and, at times, having to adapt to their needs, I noticed that meeting the client where they were (sometimes environmentally or interest-wise) had a greater impact on their participation as well as their progress. As an ASHA-certified Speech and Language Therapist, I take pride in keeping to ethical and best practices. I know that structure while still keeping things fun and interesting for my clients by curating my sessions for clients is essential. For so long, it has been my dream to start a speech therapy practice that does things differently. An innovative yet effective approach that would change the lives of my clients. I’m proud to say that I’ve finally created a method. It’s fun, effective, and applies evidence-based practices using the environments you choose.
More About Speak In Action
I am a Speech Language Pathologist and Communication Coach. I focus on the whole person to get the results that we want. I can do it all, but I have a specialty in early intervention, articulation, language, and autism disorders. I have worked in a specialized school with children with various levels of autism, used the PECS system, and AAC. I also learned to manage behaviors well. I am bilingual and can help with Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, or Italian. In addition, I have worked with people of all ages, a variety of challenges, and disabilities. For over a decade, I have been working in diverse settings, gaining invaluable and effective techniques to assist my clients. I have worked in schools, private practices, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, independent living facilities, home health, clinics, hospitals, and telehealth. I have proven methods that I have tested and seen be effective. I have helped children go from not being able to speak to being able to speak and read. I've taken clients from the shy and socially awkward to the social butterfly. From a client who doesn’t want to attend speech therapy, to not wanting it to end. From stuttering to smoother speech and confidence. Furthermore, I am a master negotiator and have proven methods that I am able to coach you through, whether for a job or a house purchase. Gain several dollars more on your hourly rate, increase your salary, or get thousands off the asking price of your dream home! Want to improve your public speaking abilities, social skills, or communication skills as a whole? Then you have come to the right place. If you would like to reduce or learn an accent, I can help you achieve that goal. Over the years, I have seen it all. Now I have decided to take these skills to recreate a fun, new way to do speech-language therapy that is exciting and extremely effective.
